Is it just me or does it seem like time goes by so much faster with the second child?! Scarlett is already a month old and it feels like just yesterday we were at the hospital welcoming her into the world. *cue sappy momma tears* She is doing so well and is so loved. Carter has been doing good with having a little sister around. He loves her and loves to help with her, although we have to watch him because he is still grasping the concept of being gentle with babies. He loves to kiss on her and get right up in her face haha! It really is cute and super stressful all at the same time. 🙂
Like I said in the last post, Scarlett is so opposite of Carter. She is such a good sleeper! At night she’s going about 4-5 hours in-between feedings now. I think Seth and I are both ready for when she will sleep all night, but we are grateful for the sleep we are getting.(Carter was up every 2 hours to eat for MONTHS and still didn’t sleep through the night until about 11 months old.) Scarlett’s time awake during the day is becoming longer so we are trying to adjust to her nap times and feeding schedule to keep her on schedule for bedtime. Speaking of bedtime, that’s been an adjustment! Trying to figure out how to get Carter to bed (which is a 30 min story time, rock, tuck in, etc. routine) AND get her night time feeding in and get her put to bed…whew! It’s been a chore with Seth gone for 4 nights out of the week, but we are slowly figuring it out. 🙂 Other than that, she is super snuggly and loves to be held, and she’s getting really good at holding her head up.
I can’t wait to see what she starts doing this next month! We keep waiting for her to start smiling but it hasn’t come yet so hopefully that will happen soon!
P.S. The little polar bear is Stella. I got it for Scarlett when I was pregnant with her. Stella was hand made in Peru and the purchase of her provided 20 meals to children in need which is just awesome. Find out more here.
